Sarah Miller-Bartley is an interdisciplinary artist based in Western Massachusetts. She studied Art Studio at Mount Holyoke College. She works largely at the intersection of sculpture and painting, often incorporating light and video projection to add new dimensions to still objects. Sarah’s process consists mainly of deconstructing traditional art materials and found objects to the point of abstraction. On distressed and sculpted canvas, she paints in expanses of singular, vibrant colors picked from the plasticky found objects which she uses as material and inspiration. Sarah worked with Olivia Brandwein on Warp, a weeklong residency at A.P.E. Gallery in in July 2022. She presented her senior solo show, Plasticene, at the Mount Holyoke Blanchard Gallery in April 2023.
